FAQ
After School Programs
Who can participate in the program?
Working with catchnet after school programs, we typically organize mysteries for children aged 5 through 13, though we are open to creating programming for children of all ages!
Can I enroll my child in the YD class without enrolling them in the host program?
It depends on the host program. Some catch-net after school programs allow children to attend the classes of their independent vendors without having to enroll in their program. Reach out to the program and ask their director about their policy.
What if my child misses a class?
Are the mysteries scary or spooky?
Absolutely not! Our educators know how to craft a fun, safe and exciting mystery. We use heels, but they are usually people from the kids' camp or program that they know well. It's all laughs and pure joy!
What is the ratio of staff to children?
This is typically determined by the host program. A common ratio is 1:20, but this may vary.
Are classes structured so that all participants feel stimulated and involved?
Yes. We design individualized challenges, clues and riddles with participants in mind. We use lateral & critical thinking challenges that are engaging across multiple grade levels.
Summer Programs
How do the sessions work?
We are typically brought in to run day-long, week-long or two-week long mystery-themed events. We work closely with summer camps to strategize how we can use their cultural and material resources to maximum effect.
Can you plan camp events off site?
Yes. We typically should be notified two weeks in advance so that we can survey the area and plan out the mystery accordingly.
Do you plan events for only camp staff?
Yes! We are happy to plan events for your camp staff to bond and even train them to run their own mysteries/escape rooms. Notify us if this is your desire.
What is the maximum number of campers you can engage in your mysteries?
Do you run events for all types of camps? What about camps for children with special needs?
How will we know what kind of mystery/event you have planned?
What will you need from the summer camp in order to be successful?
Special Event Programs
What types of events do you run?
We put together narrative-based mysteries, escape rooms and scavenger hunts for birthday parties, staff outings and other special occasions.
Can you accomodate mixed age/grade level?
Yes! We should be notified in advance in order to allow us time to put together the optimal program.
